DIY Envelopes

A lot of times when I make a handmade card, I don't have an envelope for it, or an envelope bought from the store might be kind of bland. Here's an easy way to make your own envelope with whatever pattern/color you want, and it only takes a few minutes!

You will need:

  • Paper of your choice
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Card that you want to put in the envelope

You can use pretty much any kind of paper as long as it's big enough for your card - construction paper, cardstock paper, or a pattern that you print yourself. For this envelope, I just used some flower clipart from Microsoft Word and printed it on a sheet of paper.

You can easily print out your own patterned paper!
Begin by placing your card on the paper, and fold the bottom up to where it can cover the entire card.

Next, center the card in the folded paper. Fold the sides over, and then the top.

Now unfold the paper, and there will be creases along which you can cut.

Cut off the sides on the bottom and top sections of the paper. Then cut the corners off the remaining side and top flaps to make it more envelope-y.

All that's left now is to glue the side flaps over the bottom part...

And you're done! Now you can make envelopes to match any card!

Envelopes for any occasion!
